CreaCom stands for creative community. It is a social media platform where creative individuals can grow together by posting their works in progress for others to critique and gather inspiration from other artists’ works.

launch projectKrista Acas and I received two words to design a social media around; Education, Transparent. We did research in order to understand the possibilities of an education based social media and what transparent media could being to the design. We looked online and on our phones to try and find out what social media is out there relating to education. We wanted to stay away from the normal education apps that are currently available because they are all very similar; they try to help kids become better educated. We decided to go with artists as the target audience because there are social media out there for them, but they can be improved. The social media don’t cater to the artists needs and there is no process within their work, so there is no way for the artist to grow.
People join the same social media as a way to connect with old friends and family that they have not been able to see for a long time. There is a sense of community with the group of people that interact. You can message people and like what people are doing. Posts can be made to show others what you are looking at.
Specifically with artists, they want to reach out to other artists who can provide inspiration to their own artwork. They need a platform to reach a wide spread audience. People need to provide feedback and critiques on their works, so artists can better their craft. Artwork needs to be easy to upload. People don’t need to feel tethered to others if they do not want to talk to them. They need another way to get recognized for the work they are doing.
